The 11th Manifestivus "La Fiesta Loca" (http://manifestivus.com/) is Vermont’s summer party of 2014.
For three days and two nights, July 25-27 Cabot, VT will be rockin' as an intimate crowd of like-minded people dance to some of the best global beats in existence.
This year’s featured bands include your hosts Locos Por Juana, The Nth Power, Afro-Kumbe, Fear Nuttin Band, Charles Lazarus and more!
"Manifestivus is proof that an epic event can happen in the backwoods of Vermont,” says David Pransky, bassist for Toubab Krewe and founder of the festival. “We join the best of Vermont with the best of world music and culture to create an unforgettable weekend."
The Manifestivus is an uplifting international world music festival that promotes personal evolution through music, art and culture. The festival reminds us that we are one with each other, the land and all things.
The festival, which “manages to punch above its weight by attracting top international talent," (National Geographic.com) takes place on the 93-acre Pransky family farm. Just six hours north of New York City, and three hours from Boston or Montreal, the site boasts hiking trails, swimming ponds and woodland forest. Manifestivus offers on-site camping, yoga, West African dancing and drumming, community art projects and local crafts, healthy living seminars, workshops, costume theme nights, various culinary vendors, and cross-cultural immersion.
Within Manifestivus is the Mini-festivus catering to the 200+ children that attend the festival each year. The family friendly environment introduces younger generations to music and different cultures from all around the world. The Mini-festivus features arts and crafts, puppets, storytelling, a bouncy house, an instrument-making workshop, roaming performers and of course live music performances. Kids 13 and younger are free when accompanied by a paid adult.
Manifestivus attendees are “young, old, local, and international; the perfect mix of generations and personalities” says Performer Magazine. “[Its] the most no drama, upbeat and down-to-earth backyard party… with tons of world music and interesting international and local acts.”

Coming off an absolute heater of a show at Port City Music Hall Dead Sessions is happy to announce our Summer 2014 schedule!
Summer Sessions will commence at the Parting Glass in Saratoga Springs, NY on July 3rd for our annual Phish/SPAC after-party. Eight days later on Friday July 11th, the bus pulls into NYC for a very special Phish after-party to benefit The Waterwheel Foundation at the Cutting Room. Then, on Friday July 25th, we head to Cabot , VT -- deep in the motherland -- and become one with THE party aka THE MANIFESTIVUS aka "La Fiesta Loca". The final session of the summer is Friday August 1st, back when we return to Portland, ME to celebrate Jerry's Birthday at Port City Music Hall.
Tickets are on sale now for all shows. Visit the shows page for more info.
Dead Sessions received glowing reviews for their performances this spring at Higher Ground & Port City Music Hall and the collective is as energized as ever to bring the purest Dead energy possible to every show this summer. Microblogger Jessaminehair Starfeather said, Dead Sessions astounded the audience with an emotional 1st set ‘Built To Last’ and ‘Friend of the Devil’ with Todd Ketchum guesting on upright Bass. The darkness came with a spooky 2nd set ‘Estimated Eyes>Playin>Other One "It was the most anticipated show in town that night…Dead Sessions won over a jaded Portland crowd, we were all singing along." Resident Deadhead Dewbloom Northflake exclaimed, “Dead Sessions' joy emanating vibe took the band’s playing to new heights.”
Dead Sessions has seen several new players in the ranks as of late. So far the lineups look like this: In Saratoga, Dead Sessions co-founder Adam King will make his triumphant return from the west coast joined by Adam Terrell (Assembly of Dust) & Toby Kniffin on guitars. If you see Mr. Adam King buy him a beer and wish him well -- he's getting married on Sept 5th! In NYC, we will be joined by Seth Yacavone, Adam Terrell and none other than the multi-arm Todd Stoops on keys. Todd played in some of the earliest Dead Sessions back when Raq was called SHADRAQ and has recently been SLAYING the keys with his nu-sion project KUNG FU.
For Manifestivus, since we are playing such sacred ground, we brought back the classic Dead Sessions lineup with Budle of Joy aka Bri Laurie on organ and Seth & Toby on guitars, but it wouldn't be "La Fiesta Loca" without some big-time sit-ins. You'll have to bee there to find out!
For our JerryDay, we will be announcing just exactly what the lineup is and what we plan to do in the coming week. It will no doubt be something special.
"We want to ROCK the beautiful people who love this music.” says longtime bass player, Pat May. “I'm completely in awe of Dead Sessions' longevity." "The thought of sharing the stage with close friends, some of which I have know for 16+ years is so beautifully surreal." "I'm honored and deeply grateful to be given the opportunity to perform and continually experience this great cannon of music, and with the support of my brothers and sisters in the band, I feel like magic will be on display.”
This season at Sunday River has been our best yet with familiar faces growing in numbers. We head back to the mountain for our 3rd & final night on Saturday 3/22.

THUR JAN 14- Pickle Barrel, Killington, VT

SAT JAN 18 - Foggy Goggle @ Sunday River, Newry, ME
Those who braved 8+ inches of driving snow and made it out to the Foggy Goggle last year, were treated to a band on a mission. The energy in the room that night had the place lit up and we can't WAIT to get back up to the mountain. The conditions have been stellar for this early in the season so for all you heads that ride/ski plan come for the turns stay for the band!
Dead Sessions is excited to return to BB. King's in the heart of Times Square for our 3rd annual Phish After Party on December 30th. After crushing Highline Ballroom last year we found out quite a few people got shut out of the show and it was REALLY packed at Highline so to give everybody more space to chill we are moving back to BB's.
BB's other big advantage is it's only 9 blocks away (MSG on 33rd, BB's on 42nd) so you can WALK THERE.
TICKETS: This show is 18+ We do everything we can to keep our ticket prices as low as possible, but the fact remains, we are in NYC people and things cost more, room rental, staffing, promotion etc. That said, like last year, we are again able to offer $15.00 early bird advance tickets BUT ONLY UNTIL 12/20. On 12/21 tickets will go up to $20.00. At the door they will be $25.00 so get yours NOW.
